To be convicted of embezzlement, all of the following must be proven:
- Taking of property
- Entrusted to the defendant
- With the intent to permanently deprive the owner of that property
POTENTIAL PUNISHMENTS FOR EMBEZZLEMENT
Embezzlement can be charged as a felony if the value of the property is more than $950.00. If the value of the property is $950 or less, embezzlement can only be charged as a misdemeanor
