Vehicle Code § 22349–Driving over 65 MPH on a Highway

Vehicle Code § 22349(a) prohibits a driver from travelling 65 MPH or more on a public highway. Additionally, Vehicle Code § 22349(b) prohibits driving 55 MPH on a two-lane highway.

A violation under Vehicle Code § 22349 is an infraction punishable by a fine and 1 DMV point.

A violation of Vehicle Code § 22349 may significantly increase your car insurance premium as a result of the added DMV point. An experienced attorney can help you to avoid this consequence by helping you to reduce or fight the charge.
