Vehicle Code § 22108– Failure to Use Turn Signal

Vehicle Code § 22108 states, “Any signal of intention to turn right or left shall be given continuously during the last 100 feet traveled by the vehicle before turning.”

A driver who fails to use a turn signal before turning violates Vehicle Code § 221078. Additionally, a driver who uses his or her turn signal just before turning, rather than 100 feet before actually turning, has violated Vehicle Code § 22108.

A violation of Vehicle Code § 22108 is punishable by a fine of $238 and 1 point on your DMV record which will likely result in increased insurance rates.
